An alternative to Omegle
Omegle, the random chat that connected strangers from 2009, closed in November 2023. If you miss talking to someone new at the press of a button, Hoplo — an independent service, not affiliated with Omegle — works just as simply.
What Omegle was
Omegle let anyone talk to a random stranger by text or video, without an account. Its founder shut the service down in November 2023.
What is the same on Hoplo
- One button connects you with a random person, and Next moves you on to someone else.
- No account needed and no app: Hoplo works in your browser.
- You can chat by video or, without a camera, by text.
What Hoplo also offers
- Filters by country and gender let you choose whom you meet.
- Adults only: everyone confirms they have turned 18 before the first chat.
- Rules, reports, automatic checks and moderators help keep the chat safe.
- The other person sees the flag of your country, not your gender or a profile.
- The site is available in 18 languages.
Is Hoplo connected to Omegle?
No. Hoplo is an independent service and is not affiliated with Omegle or its founder. We mention Omegle only to explain what Hoplo is like.
